Hey folks. Thanks in advance for any insight. The story goes; The woman we bought our '86 Excella from said she pinched the wires while backing up to the tongue and basically cut the harness in half. My question is, where she cut off the old to try and install the new, she left an orange and grey wire completely loose. Just trying to find out if they split off of the blue brake wire, or, possibly go to other wires in the harness. I wired everything else and all systems work except the brakes.
Thanks
Where are the loose wires physically located on the trailer?
Does the blue brake wire have anything connected to it?
One trick to consider is activating the breakaway switch for the brakes and see if the orange or grey wires have 12V on them, that would confirm that wire is connected to the brakes.
I'm guessing that she cut about 18 inches +/- from the original 7pin connector. the blue wire is wired into the 7 pin I replaced. The orange and grey wires are on what's left coming from the TT. Thanks for the idea.
My 94 Excella has a few extra wires that are close to, but not part of, the main 7-way cable. They are in the harness for optional items not installed on our trailer.
Do you have the wiring diagram for yours? It should show the connections/colors.

No wiring diagram. The wires are cut in the same place she cut all other wires. I've read that the brake wire ( blue wire ) splits in the pigtail. but cannot find info. If I had a wiring schematic if would be a no brainer. Jack of all trades, Master of none.
