Todd, if you do a search on Carrier, you will find that the unit has had several posts that were positive towards it, AND it's low profile. As for painting it silver, the color silver gets quite a bit warmer in direct sunlight than does white. Most shrouds have remained unpainted for the last 20 years or more.
