Air Conditioner

We need to do some general maintenance of our A/C, mainly clean the coils. It's a Briskair Duotherm by Dometic. Any suggestions?

without any specific complaint, just remove the cover and clean everything well, especially the condenser coils. I think, if it's an old unit, there are oil points for the motor shaft. Don't overdo it, just a few drops per end.

Check over the wiring for rodent, etc damage and see that the insulation is not cracked, etc.

I think that's about it.

Compressed air is best to clean the coils. Messy, but effective.

You should buy COIL CLEANER from any heating and cooling supply house. Remove the cover if possible and spray the cleaner on then rinse with water.

If you have a weed sprayer that will work for the water as you do not want to flood the evaporator coils inside and make a mess.

Force of air or water is not recommended. Try and apply everything straight on to the coils as this will get the cleaner in farther.
