AC Shroud Removal

I have a 79 Ambassador and I yesterday I noticed water dripping from bottom of AC. I've had this unit for about a month and have run the AC before and not notice any dripping. The only change that I had done was to drop the front end slightly to try to level the trailer. This morning I took a few minutes to try to remove the shroud. After removing the 4 screws, I can't figure out how to slide the shroud off w/o maybe breaking it on the folding door slide. The door frame has no fexibility and the ceiling has very little. How do I get the shroud off the unit? I feel certain this is a pan leaking, plugged line, or a loose connection somewhere as the unit is under roof. I've read several other posts and hopefully this will be a 'relatively' easy fix - if I can only remove the shroud w/o busting it up.

It should have lifted off when you removed the 4 screws.

BUT, sometimes Airstream or an owner applied Vulkem sealer to the bottom of the shroud, which would hold it in place on the shell.

That really is a complete waste of usefullness.

All you can do, VERY CAREFULLY, is slide a "putty knife" under the shroud, to cut thru the Vulkem.

No other fasteners were ever installed by Airstream other than the 4 you mentioned.

Andy,

I should have been a little more specific, it's the Interior Shroud (houses the filters) that I am trying to drop from the AC unit. It doesn't want to slide out from between the top of the 'Foldette' door assembly. I may have to remove the door?
Also, - thanks to you and the ladies for promptly getting those Sovereign axles to me a couple of months ago.

Yes, that cross bar "must" come down, first.
