Wireless thermometer to monitor refrigerator

I purchased and installed a LaCrosse wireless Indoor/Outdoor thermometer and installed the wireless transmitter in the refrigerator to monitor the temperature which displays as Outdoor on the display. Of course the Indoor section of the display shows the interior temper of the Interstate. This LaCrosse thermometer is capable of reporting the temperature from one additional wireless transmitter. If I can figure out where to place the transmitter on the outside of the van I will order an additional transmitter for that purpose. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to place this transmitter so as to get a meaningful outdoor temp reading? I realize I would have to drive the van for a few miles to negate the effect of heat radiating off the skin of the van.

Thanks,
WS in AK

Velcro it to a window on back of van. Wind will not pull it off. We use one on the back window of our classic.

I've seen the factory temp sensor just behind the grill on many automobiles. Of course it will read hot until the engine cools off.
