Right now Americans coming to Canada have to register on line with their basic information, passport data, the portal they plan to use, proof of vaccinations, and proof of a very recent negative Covid test.
I am wondering if Canada will require something similar for Canadians driving home from the US.

Entering Canada at a land crossing requires use of the ArriveCan app to load your double vaccination details, and a pre test prior to arriving at the border, whether one is Canadian or not. Rapid tests are not accepted. Additional testing at the crossing is on a random basis, not for all travelers.
This appears to be cutting down on the number of people travelling across the border simply to buy milk and gas and avoid paying Canadian taxes.
