Suggestions please: Florence AL to Missoula MT

Just found out that we're going to Missoula in late June. Any suggestions for where to stop and camp along the way? It looks like I'll be on I-55 to St. Louis, end up on I-80 in Des Moines, I-29 to Sioux Falls, I-90 to Sturgis, split off on highway 212 N to Crow Agency, back on I-90 to Missoula. Open to changing this if anyone has experience with a better route. It doesn't look like I have much concern regarding elevation change/Rockies, which is better for me. https://goo.gl/maps/GSMcoCGRzKJ2

Suggestions on where to stay (or not) would be very much appreciated, close to route as I want to make tracks and I've got 2000 miles ahead of me. Will have wife and 3 kiddos along for the trip.

In MT Suggest you stay on interstate and avoid 212. Much safer route. Nice KOA in Billings and Bozeman. There are number of national forest campgrounds to choose from

Suggest avoid 212. Big timber koa has water slide for kiddos. Are you hitting Sturgis during " the gathering"? Check dates. Have reservations well planned at Missoula, can be full up.
