St John NL Ferry?

Has anyone taken the ferry from Argentia to St. John? How long did it take and how much did they charge (for how many feet?). Will they let you leave your dog in the trailer and can you go down and visit it? Understand it is around 10 hours and $400 Canadian. Each way. Not sure. Thanks, regards, Steve

There is ferry service from North Sydney, NS to either Port aux Basque or Argentia, NL. I've been to NL 3 times and am not aware of any ferry from Argentia to St John's - guess it could be something new but why would you want to take it since that is not that long a drive? And as I remember you are not allowed to visit your vehicle during the trip. Don't know about time to Argentia since I've always taken the ferry to P aux B and driven across. That one takes approx 6 hours depending on the weather.

Here is some info on those ferries.

Note that you asked about St John: is that New Brunswick you are talking about? Al-K4GLU talked about the ferry from St John's, which is in Newfoundland.

Marine Atlantic

About half way down you'll see Argentia as a departure port...
