RV Parks Palm Desert CA

My wife and i are driving from Phoenix to Palm Desert CA next week. We would love to hear from those of you on the Forum that can suggest nice RV Parks. We have a 28 ft. FC we only plan to stay in Palm Desert a day or two. Our destination is Hollister, CA where we are meeting the NorCal WBCCI Unit to join a caravan. We are not familiar with Palm Desert so any suggestions of things to see and do would also be appreciated. Thanks to anyone that posts a reply your help is greatly appreciated!

Emerald desert is nice, but expensive. My Mom lives almost across the street from Emerakd desert, but when we visit with the trailer, we stay at Indian waters RV resort in Indio. It's a 20 minute drive from Palm Desert, and it's not as nice, but with our club memberships it costs us like $25.00 a night. (Or something like that, my wife deals with the reservations) and it's nice enough.

I would suggest the Passport America park in Desert Hot Springs, Catalina Spa and RV Park. The park is in the process of being rehabbed, but they are the only one that is honoring the PA system during the snowbird season. $21/night is hard to turn down when the other parks are in the $45-$55 /night. If you are just looking for a place to stay and spend some time seeing the area it is great.

Coming in from Phoenix get on Dillon Road and off of I-10 and it will take you the scenic route on the east side of the valley to the turn into the park.

Enjoy the caravan, a NorCal member.

We are currently at Sam's Family Spa
In Desert Hot Springs.
Site: www.samsfamilyspa.com

It's nice not fancy, close enough to everything and the hot springs are AWESOME!
Everyone is nice and it's clean.

Hope this helps.

Yes, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned the trains! There is a railroad track very close to the resort which kept us up most of the night. Trains at 1 am, 3 am, etc. VERY noisy and THE reason I'll never camp there again.
