We are here!
We are here for the grand opening of the new camp ground. Everything is new and clean with a lot of nice touches and details. There isn't a bad site in the CG. Each site has fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean to the south west and the hills to the north east. The campsites are terraced so the views are unobstructed. We will certainly be coming back!

We've made shorter trips to Oneill Park and Caspers Park(as ours is stored in RSM), perfect for a quick weekend out...But this trip is closest to our home as we live in Laguna!

Parker, are you a couple rigs down from another 25' Airstream in storage? If so thats me. I'm in the lower lot where some RV spots are being converted to indoor storage.
Great to hear about the new campground. I camp in Oneil, Doheny, and now this one will be great.

Yes...that's us! Small world indeed! Drove by Crystal Cove today, hoping to drive through, then remembered the $15 day use fee and we decided to wait to see it until next weekend. Really glad we were given the heads up that they opened for booking as it looks like it's going to be a tricky one to book in the future. :-)

We just returned from a weekend at Crystal Cove and had a fine time. The sites are large, by California State Park standards. Very little shade or privacy now, the the privacy will improve when the plants grow up a bit. The views from every site are spectacular. The dump site has three stations and there was no line. All in all, a wonderful place. The rangers are sticklers for the rules. If you show up twenty minutes early expect to be told to leave and come back after 3PM. Dogs are allowed, on a leash, but they are not allowed on the beach or any unpaved trail.

We just stayed there this week. Excellent. There were 3 airstreams. There is a tunnel to the beach. Also, close by, shake shack and get down the Beachcomber for breakfast.

We were there for the opening weekend over the 4th of July. We had such a good time we are going back for 5 days during Christmas. This Labor Day weekend we went to Lake Chacuma 24 miles north east of Santa Barbara. All sites are given out on a first come, first served basis with reasonable (for California) rates for full hook-up sites. Great place to go when you can take an unplanned, last minute getaway weekend. There were 3 Airstreams here, a new 2010 28' Safari, our 2009 27' FB Ocean Breeze, and a new 25' FB International. Great weekend and fun people.
