Long term in Tampa!

We are being temporarily transferred to Tampa, Florida in June. Any suggestions for a campground that takes year long folks?

There is also Bay Bayou RV Resort. Close to all amenities, beaches, downtown, etc. In a very nice part of Tampa and just off the water. Some of the premium spots are on the water ways that lead out to the bay. Great for Kayaks, canoes, etc.

Sneakinup: What do you think of the KOA in Tampa? The St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA?

We have a son and grandchildren in Tampa and have been visiting with the Airstream for years. We have stayed at a number of the campgrounds in the area. Let us know a little more of what your plans and requirements are when there.

For a number of years our son lived in Seminole heights, close to downtown. During that period, we stayed at Camp Nebraska on North Nebraska Avenue. It's a nice campground, but it is in a very dicey neighborhood.

I stayed at Silver Dollar RV last winter for a long weekend. It is a 55+ community. It is in a rural setting, but close enough to shopping and restaurants. It is right on a golf course. I liked it and my wife liked it. The monthly rate with all utilities included is $695 (prime season), except cable tv is extra. The transient RV area is pretty small, maybe 40 to 50 spaces set under large oaks and pines. It is 30 minutes northwest of Tampa, 20 minutes northeast of Clearwater, 20 minutes southeast of Tarpon Springs.

edit: There is a shooting range about a half mile away that you can hear occasionally.
