Las Vegas RV Park Recommendation

Please provide me with a recommendation on a good RV park in Las Vegas.

We don't need to be near the strip. We have two dogs that need to be walked so we need a park with places to walk our two small dogs.

If you have been to Las Vegas recenlty and liked the place you stayed tell me.

Thanks,

Jim Brown

I have stayed at Circus Circus which is a LV Hotel with RV campground, on the strip. It is a huge facility with all the amenities.. Shuttle rides, pool, laundry, rv/snack store... and it has plenty of grassy area for walking dogs. It also has security both at entrance and roving. Entire complex is behind concrete walls as well... I forget the price but somewhere around 32$ a day I think...

I liked it becuase it was right where you wanted to be - and most of the RV sites I saw before going were incredibly cramped...

My recommendation is to stay off the strip. The most beautiful RV parks are off the strip. My favorite is at Sam's Town on Boulder Highway (not sure about the pets...it's so darn hot there, you'd have to keep your AC on 24/7 for you and your pets). The strip is a great place to see, but not sleep (in an rv)...too noisy. But then again, who plans on sleeping, right? Camping rates are usually low, lots of competition in Vegas to get your bucks. Look on the internet for package deals...usually you get free shows, free dinners, etc. Oh, by the way....there's almost nil shade in RV parks or anywhere else for that matter....the only shade I ever saw was in a parking garage. I just came back to Kansas from living in Vegas for 5 years. I didn't have an RV, but I did a lot of staring at the parks and trailers/motorhomes in them. Also on Boulder Highway is Camping World.

Some friends of ours just left Vegas after spending two weeks there in one of the new RV parks. They paid $17.00 a night. They said it was a very nice, very large facility. I remember them saying it was one of the places where you could purchase the "lot"; it also has per night, weekly, monthly, etc rental space. They have two doggies who NEED to play frisbe everyday! I can't remember the name - sorry. They go to Vegas at least once a year, in their RV, and seem to enjoy it very much.

We were in Vegas recently, visiting my wife's parents (without our AS.) We checked out the Silverton and were impressed. In fact the El Camino Real Unit of the WBCCI had a rally there this month. It's close to the strip but far enough away to be safe. Also, close by is Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort which my wife say's is very nice. They are on the web: www.oasislasvegasrvresort.com
