Thumbs up Florida campgrounds with rentals?

Does anyone know of any Florida campgrounds with rental units? We thought this would be a good way to try the full service camping experience before investing in a travel trailer. Our previous camping was tenting, primarily in state parks in New England.

Our thoughts are to rent for two - four weeks sometime in late February or early March.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Johnathan Dickinson State Park just outside of Jupiter, Florida has rental cabins. Go to www.reserveamerica.com and check out others in Florida. Florida has wonderful state parks but book early, like right now for that time of year! There is a state park just east of seven mile bridge midway down in the keys that has cabins as well now that I think of it. Beautiful location! If you can't get a reservation at a state park this late in the year for the coming winter, you might check some of the private parks by going to www.woodalls.com Good luck with your search.

You might want to try Paradise Park just outside of Punta Gorda.

It is an Airstream / class A exclusive resort. There are many units there that are for rent - either bring your own trailer or rent both the trailer and the pad/Shed/Florida Room.

The park is great for a visit - but is certainly mored suited to those who are in the range of 60+.

there is also visitor parking and if you hook up with friends from your same unit you can have a lot of fun. There is a pool, golf course, and many other social activities. Nice big field to let your dogs run. About 20 minutes from two towns.
