Christmas Trip

Headed to Dauphin Island, Al for Christmas. Where would you recommend staying on the island?

Our only trip to Dauphin Is. was about 6 or more years ago and we stayed at Dauphin Is. Campground. Nothing elaborate and no cable TV, but just a short walk to Mobile Bay. Not all bad for a couple of days stay.

I understand there is another campground on the Island named Pelican Nest but it must not have been open when we were visiting. In fact, the whole area was still recovering from a hurricane.

I do remember a good seafood restaurant on the left side of the road just as you are coming on the island that we ate at a couple of times.

While I have no first hand knowledge, my sister and her husband know a couple who have camped for a few seasons at Dauphin Island Park & Beach CG. If you Google, I'm sure you will find a website; in addition, you might want to check Trailer Life Directory, too. Ultimately, I would echo Walter & Barbara's advice to check RV Park Reviews site b4 your travels.
