Hi, I'm sure that Costco has the camera that I want, but I have to leave Maine to get it. We are leaving Maine on the 13th and we will find a Costco on our way. If I buy from Costco and don't like it, I can easily return it. Right now, Caroline says the nearest Costco is just over one hundred miles away and in New Hampshire or Vermont.

This morning Lee made Lobster omelets, and for dinner, I had Lobster, mini potatoes, and lots of butter. This might well be the last Lobster from Maine, but I don't think it will be our last Lobster of this trip. More coastal areas to visit.

On the way west, make sure you go stop for some Rocky Mountain Lobster. I believe it's not so salty.

If you find one of the famous " Rocky Mountain Sea Food House" restaurants, you can get your Rocky Mountain Lobster with a side of Oysters, both fresh from the source.. (not previously frozen)

Make sure the RM oysters are well washed or they will be very salty.

In eleven years, this is the first time ever that I had to slam on my brakes. Lee was surprised at how fast my reactions are, especially at my age. I had to get out at McDonalds and see if she wiped some of the dirt off of the side of my truck. That was a close one.

There was something similar once. I believe it was discontinued because of numerous members seeking counseling due to insecurity from insufficient positive reinforcement when compared to others' posts. Now one must seek security and approval from within or infer it from responses. It builds character and causes one to be introspective.

9-15-2015.

Hi, we did a lot of driving in the past few days. We spent the night in two different Wal-Marts with no hook-ups and no WIFI. We stopped at Costco in Vermont and I bought a new camera. It was on sale too. I bought the Panasonic Lumix model #DMC-ZS40SCP. It's still pocket sized, 30 times optical zoom, and the biggie is that it has a screen and a view finder. And I saved $50.00, but had to pay sales tax.

We are now in Amish territory; We are in a camp ground in Ronks Pa. We will be here for two nights. We got the last space available, again.

I would like this post too. I do remember there being a way to give positive feedback, but it wasn't the same as a LIKE.

You sure are lucky Bob, or not. Perhaps the last space isn't as great as the others, but just getting a space might make one grateful just the same.

Hi, I feel lucky; They put me in an overflow space which is also for Laundry parking and we were going to have to hitch up and move to a real space tomorrow. Moving would interrupt our touring of the Amish, so I asked if I could just stay in the laundry parking for the two nights and they said it was OK with them. We are between the office and a house, close to the laundry which we are doing tonight, and close to the WIFI signal. Note: the laundry parking space has full hook-ups too.

There apparently used to a way to give good and bad "karma". However, I'm just a kid and much to young to remember that. My impression that the bad karma part was (understandably) causing some hurt feelings and other emotional issues. Other than a post in the thread saying you agree or whatever, the only method is to use the thanks button. On other forums I participate in using this same software, the number of "Thanks" shows up in a post's header. That apparently is not used here.

The thanks is posted in the recipient's Control Panel. Depending on his settings, it may also trigger a email or PM notification to him. The total number of thanks received determines the number of green squares that show up in the upper right of a user's profile. I'm not sure of the number per square.

I'm sure some of the moderators understand it in much greater detail than I.

Hi, today we took an Amish wagon tour through farm land and stopped at an Amish farm. We were given a tour of the working part of the farm. We bought some Amish made cookies and an Amish made root beer. Later in the day we drove around looking for covered bridges. I used my new camera today, but haven't down loaded any pictures yet. I think I like it. The people around here drive real fast; Not like freeway, or hot rod fast, but crazy fast on the very narrow streets that are shared with Amish buggies/wagons.

Better than Airstream, Ford, or Toyota!

Hi, today we just wanted to drive all around Amish country, besides one side trip to Wal-Mart. Actually two side trips. We stopped at an Amish farm and bought some more goodies. [veggies and Zucchini bread] Then we drove all over Amish country. During this drive, I passed an Amish Carriage shop. Many miles later, I regretted not stopping for a look / see. Now where was I? I have no idea where it was so we just kept driving all over the little country roads while trying to avoid larger highways. After several hours of randomly turning left and right, I accidentally found the Amish Carriage place. No real place to park, so I pulled into the driveway. There was a young Amish boy out side and I asked him if I could see the Carriages. He said I would have to ask someone inside because he was having his Carriage repaired. I asked him if he broke a wheel. He said he was there getting his light fixed. I said it was good to have lights especially at night. I talked to the owner of the shop and asked if I could take pictures and what did his shop do. He told me no pictures inside, but all I wanted outside. He then gave me a one person tour of his Carriage factory and repair shop. This was exclusive to me. Thousands of people tour the Airstream, Ford, and Toyota factories, but how many people can say they had a private tour of an Amish Carriage factory?

Amish Carriage Factory.

Hi, the new Carriages look very close to the older ones. They now have more lights, [LED lights] rear air suspension, and front hydraulic disc brakes. They also have a clock, speedometer, and a battery gauge. The black paint job looks like Lacquer, very smooth, shiny, and durable. I did not ask what paint was used on these beautiful Wagons and Carriages. These are basically all hand made. Due to the lights needed, they have way more electronics than the up-graded Antiques that are still on the road by the hundreds in this area.

Hi, these Wagons and Carriages are either used trade-ins for sale, or customer's in for repair.

One more night.

Hi, we are still in space L-2 which is Laundry 2 or temporary overflow. We liked it so well in this space we chose to not only stay here, but added one more night. I'm very happy that we decided to not move on today, not knowing that I would get a tour of an Amish Carriage factory. [3 guys and one woman] And the many more memorable sights and pictures that we took today. Buggy is another name for Carriage.

The "karma" button was not really true to the way karma comes to you and that expansion of the meaning of the term upset some people, so "karma" was changed to "thanks" eons ago. Once that was done, other people were upset. So, everyone got upset, but at different times. Some felt it was the end of an era, and I think it actually was. The Forum is different now. And there was no way to give bad karma, at least when I joined.

The "thanks" button is often used to send a short message because it is easier than sending a PM. So you may get a lot of thanks that aren't really "thanks" at all. No matter, it all counts towards those little green boxes on your Control Panel. Run your cursor over each one and there will be a message about you now having an aluminum hat or around 400 or so, you are "fully aluminated". After that, you cannot be further aluminated and just gather "thanks". Once you have 1,000 "thanks" you ascend to the Milky Way and glow a silver color in the Byam Sector.

Bob, those photos are still looking clear. I'll bet the woodworking on those carriages was perfect.
