What's Behind Cabinets in Streamline?

Is the inside skin behind the cabinets in a mid-60's Streamline? Or is the cabinet actually the internal skin? So if I removed a cabinet and planned to put something else in, is there an internal skin there or would I have a hole to patch?

I don't have my Streamline yet, but I'm busy making plans & trying to determine what options might be available.

Thanks,
-pp

My 73 Streamline has foam insulation, but I don't know the answer to your cabinet question
