So I've been on Garysupholstery.com and other upholstery sites but have not been able to find an exact match to this stuff. I've seen it in small quantities on ebay but frankly it's expensive from there. I'm getting the feeling that this stuff is discontinued.
Is it welt?

Yes...that looks like auto or marine welt. Check out this websight I think you might be able to find something very similar. Search "marine welt" if it does not come up with the link.

Is it fabric for upholstry trim or extruded plastic/vinyl for an awning? What are you using it for? It looks like the trim that feeds into our awning rail...try a canvas & awning shop.

Hey Shari,
This is the type of vinyl edge bead that wraps the cabinet edges in my caravanner. The welt that I have found onnline has a texture, but what I am looking for is smooth like what is in the picture.
Doesn't your rig have this type of edgebanding?

I don't think so...can you show a picture of a piece of it in place? Maybe we do...is it about 1/8"? But we haven't had to replace ours...if it is what I am thinking of.
I'm having a hard time visualizing this from your photo...it looks way too big for what I'm thinking of ~

It goes in the gap between the wood and aluminum walls. It is available, but perhaps not in the exact same color. The replacement welting is softer and has texture, typically. Sometimes called Welt Cord, sometimes even "Gimp".
A good selection of it is available here:
