Is there boondocking in Maryland?
The campgrounds here seem to be booked up.

Other than holing up at a Walmart or truck stop, the boondocking opportunities in the mid-Atlantic can be pretty sparse. There isn't a lot of National Forest or Bureau of Land Management property in the region and they provide a lot of the boondocking opportunities out west.

If you are a member of a fraternal organization, they have been known to allow members to hole up.

Good luck in your quest,

Mike

Memorial Day weekend, pretty much anywhere you go (that you'd WANT to go) is going to be booked up. Ditto for July 4 and Labor Day. Reserve far in advance.

You can get lucky in small towns - some have city parks with campgrounds - often a dozen or fewer spaces.

National Parks, like Greenbelt, might have space, and they don't have hookups. I think Greenbelt claims they've never filled up.

Try Elk Neck State Park N.E MD. the full hook ups will be booked but you may still find a boondocking site.
