What shape do you make your patches?
I have an international version with the outside tv antenna. The tube got water in them and burst, and the gear box is all rusted out. Plus the fact that no-one get tv signals over air anymore, and even an HD antenna is really small.
I want to take the box and mounting plate off. I'll leave the dial on the inside of the trailer.
Here's my question - what shape would you suggest. I've seen people make heart shapes, and then there is the normal square, circle, or rectangle. What about slightly oval sides of a square? Fleur de Li? Is there an Airstream shape that comes up that would make a cool emblem?(no, don't want to make a silver beret)

Since we don't plan on selling our As for a long long time we figured we could personalize it and we are huge fans of pointing breed dogs so this is what we are putting over our antenna hole. It will still be rather small but we thought hey why not?

Rob, over the air signals are still going strong out this way. I'm wondering if maybe there's a wiring problem... Not that I'm suggesting a lot of t.v. watching while camping, but just a thought.
Check out what Tin Hut did here.

Oh yeah, I saw the one Tin Hut did. very cool idea. The signals are pretty much HD these days, but I know some areas are still regular broadast. Even today, I can put a 4G phone on the countertop, turn it into a wireless hotspot, and watch streaming movies over netflix, provided there is good reception.
However, I rarely watch TV anymore, and can bring along a stack of movies stored on a hard drive - if I wanted to. I go camping so I can finally read a book, or catch a fish, or just watch the clouds go by.

Are you going to have a square made and then acid etch the image? How do you plan on doing that? It would be hard to cut it to shape and then put rivets around it.

hi
here's two patches i've made:
the first to cover the old fresh water inlet
(to the right of the new inlet)
the second is a reminder as to where to pull the 50 year old door from the plunger door stop so that the door hinges are not twisted so much good to care of the old joints....
have fun with patches

I'm not going to remove our patch to put a new one on it, but was thinking about one of these to put onto the patch:

We are going to have it laser cut in the general shape. It will be about 3 inches long. We had a cad drawing made up for the company to use to cut it out. I will keep you posted on our progress as we are hoping to have it back next week sometime.

Well we are super excited... We picked up our patches today. We now need to attach them and get those pups polished. Here are some pre polished pics.

We are thinking we will mount this now to back plate of sorts either square of circle. I will upload some images when I have them.
