Well, I wrecked it

Actually, a couple of different times. Have determined that Vintage Airstream is not for me. I need to get these repaired and sell. Need someone in Mid Atlantic that can make the repairs for me.

1976 Argosy TT.

Thanks.

That's unfortunate.......however the last time I was in the mid Atlantic I don't ever recall seeing an Airstream certified repair center on Ascension Island; just a bunch of sea sick lads on the way down to the Falklands.

P&S Trailer in Ohio
New England Airstream

Cheers

Sorry to hear this. Not sure this is "mid Atlantic" but perhaps try Colonial Airstream in NJ?

I think Frank's trailer works is in Baltimore. Many have used him for repairs and I think he has a very good reputation.

I don't think you would be able to recover the price of repair in a sale.

Airstream of Western PA, in Greensburg, PA. Two brothers run the service department, Carl and Alex. The sales department is closed down. These two guys have been working on Airstreams for well over 30 years, each. I've seen them fix just about anything on an Airstream, Argosy or any other RV for that matter.

I have to agree that the cost to fix will be more than you could sell the trailer for.
Sell as is.
Also I don't understand what vintage trailer has to do with anything.

This time of year is a seller's best time to sell. Suggest placing a classified ad on this site, and on local Craig's List, with detailed info. on what systems work and which don't, tire condition, appliances, etc.. If your price is realistic for what you have, NOW is the best time to sell as-is (pricing is not my area of expertise).

Ditto to bud/paiceman's recommendation of Carl and Alex near Pittsburgh. Patrick Botticelli at Colonial would be a good person to talk to also IMO for guidance.

Unlikely that repairing to sell is your best route home . . . IMO . . .

Good luck,

Peter

I agree on selling as is. The damage, at least most of it, is superficial...just beauty marks, although sizable enough to make this trailer really pretty!

Superficial dents in the banana wraps and skin do not make the trailer unusable, just a little bit harder on the eyes.

All that said, it is still a nice looking trailer and would make a nice rig for the right person who is handy enough to fix some of the blemishes.

Use it or sell it...

SO Sorry!!!

I truly know how you feel! What will your insurance cover? I've seen some extraordinary repairs done at the factory and it just depends on its final usage for you or next owner. If you are DONE with the AS, someone else MAY see it as a opportunity to get a AS and project. A dealer hoping to sell you another newer model - MAY - give you a clue to its real "worth" as a trade-in. You then can figure if it's with saleing or junking. Leaving it as is will lead to other issues; the main one being water and pests. Someone may see it of restoration value OR as a doner of parts. As others have offered, there are shops that can do the work - it's just how attached you are to beauty intersecting with your finances.
