New Counters

Has anyone put in new laminated counters? I thought it was going to be easier that it now appears. To replace kitchen counter, found out have to take out range and oven. I was told that to replace the counter in the bathroom, it is a tight fit because they install the counter and then the refrigerator wall snug tight. Also found out the counters in the bedroom (we have a double bed) requires the removal of the cabinets.

Anyone ever done this?? Suggestions???

Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine did with his Airstream. He removed the plywood countertops and both bedroom cabinets to do the work in his garage. Actually used the old countertops as templates to make new replacement plywood countertops. To finish the laminate you need a special laminate router bit. To do the work correctly for good results you need lots of room. I think it would be impossible laminating inside the trailer and expecting original quality outcomes.

I did exactly as described above. Removed old counters, used them as templates for the new ones. I did the work in the garage.

We have an 87 25' Sovereign and four years ago we replaced every counter top cabinet top and even the small table beside the door with corrian. We used the old tops as patterns. We had corrian kitchen sink and bathroom sink molded in. We found a local fabricator who had lots of left over pieces and wanted to keep their workers busy during their slow season. They charged us labor plus the two sinks and one piece large enough for the kitchen. As I have not mastered uploading pictures yet, if you send me your e-mail I would be happy to send you the pictures.

Looking for Service Manual

msmcv51
Hello again. Do you have a service manual for your 87 Sovereign? Where did you get it? I have an 85 service manual but does not include layouts for a 25 footer like we have.
