What is it?

I found this in the recesses of a 1970 Sovereign.

Is it an awning remote?

I like finding random mystery equipment. I don’t recognize that specific remote, but I’ve had garage door openers with hourglass button. Hourglass button delays closing of door so you can go in or out.

Is there a brand name or model number on the back or under the batteries?

Lighting dimmer?

Do you have a packet of paperwork, including the AS owner's manual and mfg. instruction booklets for the fridge etc.? Any clues in there?

The red plastic lens may suggest an infrared system, which required the appliance/device to "see" the remote being "pointed at" it?

IR remote images: https://www.google.com/search?q=remo...biw=1440&hl=en

Google Image search has no identical images to your first photo FWIW:

Do you have any AV units with a similar red "eye" . . . or A/C? 1970 was quite a while ago!

Good luck,

Could this come from a non-airstream accessory?

When I lived in places where it got cold, I had a few portable heaters to help take the chill off specific rooms that weren't well-served by the furnace. Your device looks exactly like a remote for one of our old heaters.

Is there a key hole on the back and an input for the nuclear codes?

The first infrared remote was in 1980, so it's not OEM for the AS. It has very few buttons so it's not for a television. I have a remote control for a space heater (Lasko) and it's a different shape but similar controls: on/off, up/down (temp setting). No idea what the other button is, maybe a time setting, each press adds 15 minutes?. It's for some simple device like a heater, fan or light.

Timer

Fan Up/Down

Well. This has become quite the mystery novel.

I have no paperwork and none of the appliances could use this. Sounds like a heater remote.

I’m parting out the trailer so this one is landfill material.

This Duraflame 9HM1000-C240 is rated at 1500 watts and weighs 19.8 pounds. It comes with a fan, timer and remote control.

Aww. You guys are buzz-killers. My bet was on Phaser with various power modes from "Stun" to "Kill".
