Portable Power Distribution box

In our new home I have a 50amp outlet in the garage to use for hookups in the driveway. When I'm not using it for hookups it would be a great source of additional power in the garage. Builder wired a single 15a circuit for all of my outlets including the power for the two garage door openers.

Something like the item pictured below. Any suggestions or has anyone home built one since they seem to be in the $300+ range for a manufactured model.
