Generator on a 1976 31' Sovereign

Hello,
My family recently purchased a 76' sovereign.
We are just beginning to gather information before we start renovating.

We have a crucial question we'd be happy to get some advice about. We want to replace all the appliances, refrigerator, stove and oven. The airstream currently uses a regular fridge which runs on electricity, so when the airstream is not running the fridge shuts down.
Of course we want to be able to use those appliances even when we are parked.
What are our options?

Cheers

The old standby in RV's is the ammonia absorption refrigerator. Most can be powered by 120vac when parked at home, in a campground with hookups or by a generator or by propane when moving or when parked in the boonies "dry camping". Some of these can also be run on 12volts from your batteries but it draws a lot of current. Dometic and Atwood make these.

If it was me, I would look at a "Danfoss" compressor style reefer such as the Vitrifrigo DP2600. Work on 120vac or 12vdc and are very efficient, cool down quickly.

I'd stick with ammonia, there's no more efficient cycle for refrigeration than ammonia, and they work as a bubble pump.

It's done. I mean mostly. It works anyway.

Can you recommend 1-2 models of ammonia based refrigerators?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that on the Dometic website they have a chart listing the recommended replacements. It also lists the dimensions of each unit currently in production.

Don't know if Atwood has the same.
