1987 25' Sovereign. New 120v 30 amp service inlet.
I do not like having the 30 amp cable coming in trough the last frame crossmember below the floor.
I am thinking of installing a 30 amp smart plug in the left (street side) rear panel above the floor and having a short connection to the adjacent junction box.
Has anyone done something similar, as in cutting a new opening in the outer skins?
Thanks.
I did it in my 23' Safari. Use hole saws to cut the holes. Look around the area you're cutting to eliminate possibility of drilling through something inside the wall, like wires or ac drain. Drill inside hole first to check for obstacles that way if you have to go to a different spot you can cover the inside hole easily. Measure 5x cut 1x. I made a template out of cardboard and taped it to the outside of the trailer to find a good spot.
