Newbies in Dallas, Texas

We (my wife and I) are new both to this web site and to Airstream ownership. Six days ago we picked up our 2010 International 27 FB with Ocean Breeze interior from the dealership. We make our maiden trip this weekend, to a Thousand Trails location on Lake Texoma a couple of hours north of Dallas. My tow vehicle is a Toyota Tundra Crew Max with the 5.7L engine, towing package, and the TRD package.

My prior experience with RV camping was owning Starcraft pop-up campers when my kids were little, back about 15 or 20 years ago. We had some great family vacations, in Georgia, Alabama, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, and Texas. My wife's family took a couple of vacations in a Class C motor home when she was a child.

We're incredibly excited about this beginning of a new adventure. I'm grateful for this web site, as I know that we will have many questions on a variety of topics related to this adventure.

Welcome

Welcome Russ and Kerri,

Hope your maiden voyage goes well and you get the even more satisfaction than you experienced when your camping adventures included the kids and a pop-up.

Best of luck,

Kevin

Welcome!

Hi Russ,

Welcome to our community! Looks like we have a few things in common. We're also in Dallas, just bought a Tundra, and although it's not our first Airstream, we just upgraded to a 27fb international!

Let us know how Lake Texoma treats ya - it's on our short list of places to go this year. We can compare notes!

Enjoy your new adventure-mobile!

Welcome to you both and congratulations on the beautiful new trailer. We've decided that should we ever trade our Classic S/O it would be for the model you now own. Just love it. Have fun and send pictures.

Thanks for all the nice greetings, folks.

We went to Texoma a couple of times back in the spring when we got our Airstream, and really liked it.

We are now in the midst of our fourth Airstream trip, currently in Santa Fe. This trip is planned for a duration of 21 days. We'll also travel to Flagstaff, Las Vegas (wish us luck!), The Grand Canyon, and back through Albuquerque / Santa Fe on the way back to Dallas.

If you would like to read about our travels, feel free to take a look at my blog:
