I leave the batteries in the trailer on trickle charge. If there is a hard freeze coming, I blow the water lines with air pressure, and leave an electric heater on in the trailer. I had no problems with this procedure even last winter with the temps we had.

Ok we found our Trailer 2011 20ft Flying Cloud we are very happy. Just got back from Sunset State park near Santa Cruz. The Jeep drives great. I got the ez-lift with sway set up. I need to get a transmission cooler. heat warning came on going up the Grapevine on the 5 back to Glendale. I just took it easy behind a big rig up the hill and the warning came off.

Great. Glad it is working out for you, though I'm having trouble visualizing you drafting uphill with an Airstream.

Be SURE and get the trans cooler installed soon, before you tow again, and if the vehicle has any miles on it at all, I'd replace the transmission filter and change the oil at the same time. Also, be sure you use a reputable shop for the work, or do it yourself.

An ounce of prevention...........

Jeep maintenance

I went to my Jeep dealer with my maintenance book in hand! I also had transmission oil changed and also the rear differential! Since I am towing now, it recommended doing that too. My Jeep is 4-wheel drive.
Sounds like my transmisson cooler is working. After driving up hills in 100 degree heat, my light didn't come on after a tough 4000 mile trip! Yeah! I pushed it driving home and did a few 500+ mile days. I did talk to them about using my "tow/haul" button also. I probably should have used overdrive more. oops! Next time! I'm learning! Now if I can get hitch tweeked a little, to get the rear end up a little and front end level on Jeep. All will be good. Oh, forgot to mention, jeep wanted her oil changed early at 2,500 miles. The oil change lite came on in Ohio. Luckily a jeep dealer was in that town and helped. He said the oil could have started to break down in the heat/ hills,I drove through.
She gets some high end oil cause she has the 5.7 Hemi. Carol
