Hello Community Members,
I finally registered and this is my first posting, though I have been reading the forums since last June.
We live in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and try to camp in the more remote Forest Service campgrounds as much as we can.
We have a 2007 19’ CCD, and tow it with a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser, that I have upgraded with a supercharger and heavy duty springs/torsion bars. It seems to handle the trailer without any problem.

Due to the dialog on the forum, I have:
  • Learned about the Goodyear Marathon issue; I just do not want the worry of something happening with the tires, particularly with a single axel trailer. So I purchased American Racing Outlaw II wheels, and installed Michelin LTX 215-75R-16 LRE tires. The trailer pulls great and is noticeably more stable. And I have piece of mind.
  • Installed a SurFlow pressure accumulation tank. Dramatically reduced the on/off cycle of the water pump.
  • Found out that the rivet that fell out of the ceiling near the door has been a somewhat common occurrence. Had this fixed while under warranty.
  • Installed more towel bars and robe hooks, using the same style of the original equipment (Moen “Modern”). Found the fixtures at: faucet.com. Much less expensive than going through AS parts.
  • Purchased a Honda 2000EU generator, due to the positive comments.
The AS is our second trailer; my wife and I started out with a Casita, which allowed us to become familiar with the systems and pulling a trailer. It served us well for almost 10 years.

Thank for allowing me to join your community. My wife and I look forward to next spring.

Hi Steamy1 and welcome!
As you've found, this is a great site for info.
Remember, you don't have to wait for spring...we don't all have snow.
