I am new to your forum. I have been looking at and dreaming about an Airstream for years now. I currently have a 21 ft Bigfoot TT and have found a beautiful 2003 26 Ft Landyacht MH with 40K miles for sale at Toscano RV in Los Banos CA. Any observations/suggestions about that particular model....is it a good buy? Anything I should ask about or look for?

If the unit looks good, the main suggestion that I would make is to thoroughly check out all of the operational systems. The engine, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, etc.

Sharon and I looked at that unit last Sunday. We were only looking as we have a AS TT. Sure was a nice unit. Good luck to you.

Make sure you really want a MH since you are used to towing a TT. With the MH you either need to tow a vehicle to get around with or you will have to break camp every time you want to go somewhere. We are really happy towing and having the TV available to get around while our AS is still set up in the campsite.

Thanks for the welcome and the good advice. I've been looking at both 25 ft TTs and the 26 ft landyacht. There are advantages to both, i know, as well as disadvantages. So I continue to weigh both as my search goes on. The twin bed option in the TTs is one that would be a plus for me. I travel with my two cats....one who rides very well in the truck and one who doesn't care much for the motion. Both do fine once we're in camp and they are in the trailer. It's like a second home to them.
