Introduction
Hi everyone. I wanted to introduce myself as a new member. I've only recently bought an Airstream, and have already found this site to be immensely useful. Hopefully someday I will be able to contribute as much as I have gained.
To answer the obvious questions it's a 2008 Safari Sport 17'. I tow it with a 2005 Touareg V6.
I am currently on my first road trip and have had fun/frustration adjusting to RV life (I have had similar complaints to many on this forum re fridge fan noise, leaky shower, etc.)
Thanks for your time, and look forward to many years of Livin' the 'Stream!
(I would have included a picture, but I couldn't figure out how to load one from my hard drive...)

Welcome from another Ontarian (an honourary Ontarian at least). I hope this forum is all you want it to be and that you have fun with your Touareg and Safari. Did you use Can Am?

Thanks all.
glsBigSky, you made the right choice getting the TDI (I assume it gets better than the 13mpg I'm getting with mine...!)
MrUKToad, I don't know what Can Am is, so I'm going to say 'no'!

Fair enough!
Can Am RV in London, Ontario. They are Airstream dealers and do some great hitch rigging.

Lvnthestream, 13 is not bad for the gasser. I was tracking 11 with my Honda Pilot and a 22' Some Other Brand trailer. Now the TDI is showing 18.5 - 20 when towing. I hit 22 last September traveling back from southern Minnesota.
MrUKtoad - I contacted Andy prior to purchasing the Touareg and Airstream. I have not had the hitch reinforcement completed. He stated that the 2012 model has a strong hitch. But I am considering making a trip to see him this summer. I am using a Pro-Pride hitch so the trailer tracks great.
