Hi,
My name is Hetty, I live in Amsterdam(The Netherlands)
I love the Airstream Caravans and Motorhomes eversince I can remember...
I would love to buy an Airstream Argosy Motorhome and tour around the US and Canada.
I have only 1 question: How can I get it insured, being a none resident of the US or Canada.
Is there anyone who can help me???
This won't help Hetty from the Netherlands but for those from the UK, an International Driving Licence isn't required. What the US and Canadian authorities require is a licence in English (or French and/or English in Canada). Because the British Licence is already in English (obviously!), the International version isn't actually necessary. Although advice from the UK motoring agencies says that it is advisable to get an International licence, I decided against it because, like everything else to do with official papers, there is a hefty fee to pay. I have driven in the US and Canada on a UK licence in the past and been perfectly legal, both for the police and the insurance companies.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, but it is not about my license, I did drive many times in rental cars through the US and Canada, with my dutch license(didn't buy an international) no problem at all. My problem is WHEN I buy an Airstream Argosy MOTORHOME (and I saw some realy nice ones on the internet) Can I registrate it in my name and can I take insurance on it.
Not living in the US or Canada.
They say I can't.......
So I trie to find out how I can..............
