I'm an OWNER!!!
I now an officially in the Airstream family. I came home yesterday with my first AS: a 78 Excella 500 31'.
We bought it in Michigan and towed it a nerve wracking 7 1/2 hours home, not getting there until after dark. I can now add my towing home story to others.
We went about 5 miles and lost some rivets/replacement screws in the front of the belly pan. My husband yelled "Whoa! We're losing something!" as insulation came loose and began blowing down the road. We stopped and called the owner who drove out to meet us and we strapped and screwed it back in place, and made the rest of the trip without incident.
My husband had to pull up and back many times to get this backed into our driveway and when he finally was done he found that he had squashed a mouse on the concrete. Having been stored in a barn, mice were happily nesting in the insulation underneath. They didn't seem to appreciate their long scenic journey and were desperately trying to jump ship. My cat seemed to think that she hit the cat version of the buffet line and we found many more kitty mauled mice strewn around the front sidewalk.
I had to laugh thinking of this. I pictured us leaving a trail of little mice like bread crumbs across three states.

Great First Story
I really liked the first tow story, especially the mice. I will bet your cat thinks the Airstream is heaven sent.

Great story. The mice must be really confused, and the cat must think that is the biggest can of cat food around. Have fun with your new Airstream.
See you on the road.

Wammaroam, Good that you have a sense of humor. We purchased our 67 GT and were only 2 hours driving. We purchased two new tires before we were able to get on the road. The GT had been sitting for 5 years and the tires were SAD. The trip home was not as colorful as yours. We have spent 4 months getting her road trip ready. It is work and fun. Welcome to our
group.

Wannaroam -- Whew! At long last, eh? Have fun cleaning it up and making it into your shining jewel!
You should have said 'Harmony' in the first place. I've toured through the old utopian settlement -- what with my Clarion roots, etc.

Bob
I usually don't say Harmony, because 99.8 percent of the people (even in this area) have no idea where it is. But we are big on airstreams! My neighbors have three one belonging to each brother, and one just sitting. Just an 1/8 mile down the road is another one just sitting.
We own an shop right on the square in "downtown" Harmony. Our building is one of the original Harmonite buildings which dates to 1810.

Sounds like the start of a great adventure. give us the rundown on the equipment, etc. for your Excella. Varmints are clever and you will need to be thorough in finding and plugging access holes in the belly and wheelwell area. Keep the felix domesticat on duty too!

oh no....more
Ok, so now maybe the mice aren't as funny,.....we just found a nest of babies up inside the front wall.....
Oh, boy, I sure hope they aren't all over the place inside the walls.
And I told my husband,....why did you have to show them to me!???
Couldn't you have to just get rid of them??

Three thoughts...
1. Your kitty may enjoy a few nights out in the trailer
2. Don't poison them, they will probably stink when they die inside your walls
3. Be afraid, be very afraid of "what they leave behind" after they vacate the premises

Fyrzowt & pjpoll -- Pennsylvania's Harmony moved and became Indiana's New Harmony. It was a celibate utopian cult where only the leader, um-m, got to procreate. The group literally, double um-m-m, withered on the vine. I don't think Californians would put up with this so I believe your Harmony to be unrelated.
