310 Dreaming...

We went from tent camping to a foldout camper and are now looking to take the plunge. (The kids are grown, the house is too big.) Being quirky folks, a classic Airstream seems to call us. I am doing my homework on the 310. My husband is very mechanically inclined, so I feel confident that we can keep a good one running smoothly.

We will be so grateful to any of you who send locating tips our way. (We are in central Iowa.) Does anyone know of a Midwest group or rallys in our area?

I am excited for all of the wonderful support this forum offers. Thanks to you all!

Welcome to the forums. Yes there is nothing better than an Airstream Classic Motor Home. There will be the Autumn Gathering in Pecatonica this September which is in central Illinois. If you can not make that I will have Chummy at Wyalusing State park just across the river from you for the entire month of October. Hope to see meet you.

Can't help you find one, but know what you mean! We searched the US last year and found our 1984 310 in Dallas, Texas. We took the plunge and traveled cross country (from WV) to look at her. Love at first sight. Brought her back with us and haven't regretted it. You might check www.tincantourists.com They also have members across the country and have a For Sale sight! Good luck!

Thanks very much for the reply. We visit your site often. We have narrowed our dream to a Classic 310 Turbo Diesel. The one you have listed has more than we need (ADA accoutrements), but I'll bet there is someone out there who will really love it! We like the wrap window, rear bed feature of the 310. And we are patient. My husband would love to find one with a solid exterior, but with an interior in need of refurbishing. He is handy in the mechanic department, but we would want a good engine to start out with.
If there is one out there with our name on it, I know it will cross our path!
