310 door lock parts

HI
For any of you that have had difficulty with the door lock assembly on the 310 motor home, I was able to repair the door lock with a tumbler assembly from Stag Parkway using the part number 31-8216. This is to replace the broken lock cylinder on our 82 310. This part only costs about 16.00 and is easily installed. the other alternative is a very expensive lock replacement and time consuming. I hope this helps someone.

I also did this repair. It saved me 200 bucks. The part was hanging on the rack at my local RV Parts place, it was an L400 lock tumbler from Keeler made to fit the bargman lock.

My bargman lock assembly has fallen apart not only the tumbler but the latch assembly also. Does anyone know where I can get the complete bargman assembly? I talked to chris a airstream and he is supposed to be getting back with me. I am still waitting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just got a Bargman 300 from a place called rvproshops. I used it to replace the original Hartwell on my '74 Argosy motorhome. The replacement wasn't simple, but I'm highly pleased with the result. The original was pretty much worn out, and it lacked the retainer bolts that the Bargman has. My door was apparently drilled and machined for some other model and/or brand of lock, too, since there are holes and slots that weren't used for the Hartwell and didn't match up with the Bargman.

Does anyone know when Airstream/Argosy started using the Bargman lock on motorhomes? One friend has a '78 Argosy that came with the Bargman, but another friend has a '79 Airstream that apparently didn't - his was obviously modified for the Bargman at some point.

Hartwell door lock on 70's Argosy

Does anyone have any knowledge of parts or replacements for a Hartwell door lock?

Didn't find any other ID on the piece besides "HARTWELL LOS ANGELES CA" stamped inside the inside cover plate.

Joseph, can you post a picture of your door lock? This is the first time i've heard of a Hartwell lock before.
