Question sorry if this double posts...

I only had to look for about 6 weeks to find the one I'm buying...
1968 Overlander Land Yacht, 26'

What struck me as special on this was the twin bunkbed/cots in the middle. The bathroom/shower in the back (by the hitch) and the dinningroom/sofa in the back seem pretty common. Is this what was called the "bunkhouse"? Is this kind of rare?

The counter tops need to be replaced, floor seemed solid enough where I walked. The stove/heater need to be serviced if not replaced (for reliability). I noticed a couple of little spotlights (semilar to what you'd see on an airplane). All of the interior upholstry looked original and without holes or rips. Screens looked good. He said everything worked the last time he took it out but that was a couple of years ago. Before we make the actual exchange of cash and title I'm going to take it to a locak airstream shop and make sure there aren't any surprises.

How much do you think it sold for when it was new?
What would you guess it's worth now?

Take a look here. 68 Overlander. This will answer some of your questions. Does it have a hitch in the back?

Like this?

Does it look a little like my 62? A few weeks ago there was a guy on the forums with a 60. Yeah, I would like to think they are quite rare. Anybody outthere know about bunkhouse history. I think the term bunkhouse is more recent.

But Y2K your trailer doesn't really have 2 backs, 1 ("by the hitch") does it? What's in the front?

Beware of the famous last words "everything works", and, just because someone sells new Airstreams does not mean they know anything about old ones. You need someone to inspect it that knows vintage. What's the seller asking?
