A to Z Motors - Winters & Knightdale

From an old thread on here it appears A to Z in Winters, CA has a very good reputation. At least they did five years ago. Anyone have anything to add about them, or about their "branch" in Raleigh, NC?

We're looking at Airstreams, most likely going to buy late-model used. This will be my first, so I am leaning toward a dealership since the orientation they provide would be worth the extra cost.

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up A-Z in Winters, CA

I only have high marks and recommend them. We purchased a slightly used 2019 Globetrotter from Vince. On one of our phone calls, Vince offered to do a video tour of the trailers exterior, interior, top & bottom which was a hour or better. All our questions were answered to our satisfaction. Arrived at his business on a Monday morning from Olympia, WA (750 miles) at 9 am. The trailer was as promised. We were on the road home by 1 pm.

I was impressed with Vince's style of doing business, he is honest, fair in his pricing and handled all the paperwork.

Friends bought an Airstream from Vince of A to Z last year and we were along at every step of the way. There is absolutely nothing negative we or our friends can say about the whole transaction. Gary W's review is correct.

We have no personal experience with A to Z in NC, but there was an odd thing that happened. A to Z had a AS we we're interested in and I was trying to check them out to see if they're legit. I used Google Maps to look at their published address in NC and all I could find were houses. I also looked at satellite view of every RV dealer in the area and didn't see any obvious signs of an AS dealer.

Probably a simple explanation. We ended up buying elsewhere so we never got that puzzle sorted out.

Maybe they run the NC branch from home, and publish the photos of AS for sale online, with further arrangements TBD?

I saw that too, two addresses, both houses, 12 miles apart.

Plenty of room for more. [The date for the satellite data is not obvious at the bottom, like it used to be . . . only 2020 copyright dates. ]

One of our club members, here in NC, bought a trailer from them recently and he was very happy with the transaction. I very vaguely remember him saying they had a large facility somewhere east of Raleigh that used to be something else.

Only anecdotal, but I have heard fine things. When I was purchasing mine, I was sorely tempted by their offerings. AtoZ seems to carry lightly used late models and rare models like Limiteds and Pendletons. If I were to purchase used, they would be the first place I would look.

Indeed a pleasant way to do business. Take advantage of Vince’s “try before you buy”.
So, even the trailer off the factory floor is going to have issues to address. Folks, they do not come rodent proof.
Vince and Daniel are willing and able and fair priced. We have had them do work to our 2007 Classic. More scheduled.

We bought an Airstream from Vince at A to Z in Winters. Very fair price, super clean unit, they performed well in every respect!

I'm curious to hear what any of you have to say about buying from a dealer (like A to Z) or purchasing from an actual Airstream dealer in order to get an Airstream certified used trailer. Anyone have an opinion? Thanks.

What is Airstream certified used? I bought my trailer from a Winnebago dealer, who took it in trade. They even paid to have my warranty transferred to me, which required an inspection at an Airstream dealer. Not sure you should worry about what kind of dealer.

We bought our 25FB FC from A to Z . It was the best price even including the shipping everything was as advertised and in good order. We did a video tour which saved a lot of travel time . All in all a pleasant experience .

We purchased a 27 foot airstream classic from them two years ago. We did not go down and inspect it and had it delivered. They are easy to work with and The trailer arrived in showroom condition with new tires, batteries, and fans. I highly recommend them.

Related to lsbroskys post, the son of the member he mentioned advertised his AS moho on Craigslist, Vince bought it, his home (it was for sale too), and acres of land around it with intention of having an east coast used Airstream dealer in NC (hence Google maps looks like houses). Son then found as AS trailer in CA that his dad loved and they delivered it from CA to his driveway in SC. Great experience all around.

I bought from A to Z Motors Knightdale NC and would buy again. Their location is hard to find it is in a field behind a large run down garage but don’t let that discourage you. Tony was great t deal with.

Glad I ran across this post. We’re currently staying with my dad while we look for a trailer and it looks like we’re less than 2 miles from the NC location!

Definitely going to pay them a visit.

Please update us after your visit, and let us know if the used Airstreams are physically located there, or what the deal is.

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks for the replies... some weren't specific to which location they dealt with, but it appears both are recommended.
