How much did old Airstreams cost when new?

I am curious about how much my '62 Flying cloud cost when new. If anyone has any information about new Airstream prices in the early '60's it would be helpful to me. Thanks! Sincerely, Andy.

About $3,000 list depending on options and hagling.
The price paid for our 59 Caravanner 22' (same platform as the FC) was $2700.

I've found this '64 Options Price List found on the VAC website most interesting...especially the 'Outside Acrylic Coating' (clearcoat).

I spent three times as much $$$ and countless hours removing it!

The official price for the 1963 Flying Cloud was $4995.
I have the price list if you want a copy. Send me a fax number. Also have prices for other models.

Close guess

I found an orginal insurance cost pamphlet (with a pic of a two tone Argosy being pulled by a station wagon) from Airstream no less in my 75 argosy 26ft. The owner had marked $7,500 as insured value on it (for a yearly cost of $175.00. Seems steep for 1975). I assume the purchase price was right about there. Considering I bought it two years ago for about 50% of that value, it's held it's value very well.

1977 Argosy 24 W/ Double bed, and no A/C was around $9K.
