The safest means of getting the correct rim replacement for a Vintage single axle coach is to take an existing rim to either a trailer parts store or tire dealer and have it matched. If your original rims are split-rims, (as they were on my '64 Overlander) you will likely find that you will need to replace both rims in order to have prospects for ease of service down the road. My Good Year dealer was able to do this with my '64 Overlander insuring that the replacement rims had the correct offset, bolt pattern, and center hole diameter (all dimensions that need to be correct for the fit to be proper in addition to diameter and width). You will also want to be sure that you have trailer rated tires (ST designation) with a weight capacity appropriate for your coach - - according to the nearest Vintage listed on Airstream Weights and Measures for a '61 22', you will be looking at an empty weight of approximately 2,900 pounds and a loaded weight in the vicinity of 4,000 pounds.

Good luck with your coach!

Kevin

I'm no vintage follower, but I have to say $900 and it has all the orig gear.

Hell, even if you didn't want the unit to rehab, there are prob a fleet of folks that would pay top dollar for some of the things inside that are hard to find and/or mod to get a new item in place.

If the $900 is an issue, then pass, but if you got the $$$.......

Nowdays $900.00 bucks dont go too far. It seems like a good price for a vintage trailer and it would make a nice project. If it's all there and he body is in good shape, I say buy it!

Brought it home tonight.....few hours ago

i live in florida...warm, muggy, damp....i knew i had to clean the trailer and that there maybe cockroaches involved...i could live with that

a few minutes after starting cleanup i saw 2 cockroaches the size of mice...so i thought it was a good time to bomb the coach, i put in 3 bombs and waited a half hour...roaches everywhere, running like there was no tomorrow...i stepped on enough roaches to make the pavement look like an Iraqi battlefield....

then i saw them 3 spiders up in the corners...about the size of my outstretched palm, these spiders must have been 6 inches across...and they were just looking at me....i backed up and promptly put another 3 can bombs in the trailer...everyone disappeared and waited....half hour and the spiders looked like they were enjoying it.....

man, i hate spiders.....but the coach is in great condition....

If it is in the shape you say, I will give you $1450.00 if you tow it to me. I am in Bat Cave NC zip 28710, about 8 hours from the FL border, I will even put you up for the night in your own house.
Email me a few pictures if you are interested and I will give you directions.
