I saw a fellow air streamer in a park we were staying with his running lights on in the evening at his site without hook up to car-is this an easy thing to do to your trailer or does it involve complicated wiring. We now have an 08 international 28 ccd.

Yes

put a jumper wire between the battery terminal and the running lights on your umbilical cord.

I you really want some fun get a 2 prong directional flasher and use it. The position of the pins on the flasher are in the right relationship.

Some will provide you with a do-it-yourself way to do this by connecting two of the connections of your umbilical cord...some include a fuse, some don't... and some actually build a device that does this. Below are some instructions from "Moosetags" that I kept from a post on the forums.

We use a "store-bought" device called a "Flash Cube" but I don't think they are made any longer. Pity. We club the umbilical cord into it and it allows all the running lights to be on as well as the tail lights ... or all the running lights with the tail lights flashing. We only use this is we have shore power, though, when shore power can provide the juice rather than our batteries. We call them our "Party Lights."

While looking at the face of your umbilical cord

Electrical Tips

Put a piece of #12 wire between the connection at 11 and 1 o-clock. You can also use a fuse holder from Radio Shack with a 15 amp fuse.

This will cause the parking light to light as long as the wire is in place.

For fun put a 2 prong flasher in there and the lights will flash. Not something you want to leave on all night, as it will drive the neighbors nuts

Note that a two prong fuse will fit into the trailer connector directly, happily enough - nothing else needed. A 5 or 10A fuse is perfect.

Hi, I made a project out of it; I made two different control units. The top one only has an on-off switch and flashes all of my running lights when turned on. The bottom one allows for steady or flashing lights and will allow for running lights, brake lights, or all lights to be on.
