The ARE tonneau cover on our 2006 Silverado 2500 has 21" clear at the tailgate and edges and 22" clear throughout the bed's main area. But we only have a 1Kw generator, so super easy to move it around.

A friend in Louisiana fixed the load/unload for his 3000. He added a small davit that easily hoists and swings his genset in and out. It looked similar to this one https://t.harborfreight.com/12-Ton-C...nch-60731.html
