New to forums...want to share info

Hello to all...recently took ownership of a '94 Land Yacht 34 footer. 24,000 miles, excellent condition except for sidewall delamination behind the drivers seat. Coach belonged to someone who was not very mechanically inclined and rarely used it.

Tires are OEM Michelin 8R 19.5's, sidewalls and tread look excellent but I am going to replace them before taking any long trips. Still has OEM coolant and hoses and drive belt....which I am replacing this weekend. I'm hoping the engine and radiator have not been damaged by leaving the original coolant in them so long. Any ideas?

Got a question, the OEM factory hitch is a Class 1, rated for 2000 lbs. Since the rear axle ratio is a 4.63, the GCWR is 20,000 lbs. and our toad will be a 2004 Saturn L300, weight is about 3,300 lbs. Would you recommend I upgrade the hitch to a Class 2? The original owners used the coach to tow an older model Saturn that weighed about 2800 lbs. Not very safe in my opinion.

Thanks to all and any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

If it was me I would upgrade the hitch. It has been towed beyond it's ability already and is probably weakened.

Upgrading would be a wise . as welcome.

Welcome to the Forums. There is someone in your area that has some expertise with MHO's. PM BFRED. Im sure Buck can answer most of your questions about the hitch.
Sorry U didn't come onboard sooner,ya just missed the Detroit-Metro Rally at Milan. I'm sure all your questions would have been answered.

34 Foot Land Yacht

Welcome, this is the place to share Airstream information.
You didn't tell us what power your 34 footer had. We have one with a 5.9 Cummins diesel pusher and a class 3 hitch. We tow anthing. On this trip we're towing a 66 VW Bug but we usually tow a Saturn Vue with an Air Brake braking system. We also tow a car trailer with up to 5000 lbs.
Our hitch is a massive thing that runs up beside the radiator and hooks
to the frame that cradels the diesel engine.
