Generator fuel pump on 98 Land Yacht

My generator fuel pump has bit the dust. So far I have not found any information on fuel pump replacement. My Onan installation manual has one drawing that shows the fuel pump location being the back right of the generator compartment but it appears to be inaccessible from the front. Is the pump access from underneath? I briefly looked under the generator platform and didn’t see any access but that was before I knew the fuel pump location. Does anybody have any tips To share on fuel pump replacement. It appears to be a pretty simple job once I find the access point. Thanks for any help. Phil

Might want to start by letting us know what model generator. On my 92 LY I have an Onan Marquis 7000 NHM generator. The fuel pump is only accessible by dropping the generator down. More than likely the same in your case. If doing so, it's the best time to do general service like plugs and air filter. These also can not be accessed with the generator installed.

If you decide to do it yourself, than I found that a basic motorcycle jack works pretty well at getting it out. You can pick one up cheap at Harborfrieght. Here's a link to the one I have.

I have to also life the motorhome on that side in order to get it high enough to clear the generator. Leveling jacks alone were not enough.

The generator is a Marquis 5500. I appreciate the help. i am hoping that in the next couple days, I can get underneath the generator compartment and see if there is any access. If I need to drop it I will go ahead and get parts to service it while it is lowered. Thanks again for the advice.
