How is the front bumper originally mounted?

Because I get a lot of help with welding, I ask myself how was the bumper mount original? My one looks pretty improvised!

The mounting for your front bumper looks original to me. It looks just like the one on Peanutwhich is a 77 20' Argosy.

Good to know. They are really "rough" cuttet. No clean surface to the front.. looks like redneck style.

To clarify.
The bracket facing forward, on the right side of the painted section, is what the bumper bracket attaches to.
I must have spent an hour looking for a pic of that bracket, which I powdercoated, but I can’t find one!

To give a little update what I did the last 2 years (I realize I'm actually really slow and far behind schedule)
1. Stripped and sandblasted frame
2. Painted frame with POR 15
3. Restored rear Air suspension (new airbags, new shocks, new bushings, painted frame)
4. Installed new leaf springs
5. Rebuild axle with all new bearings, new yoke, new gears, new wheel hubs, new brake discs and installed an Eaton E-Locker (this took 8 months because the Dana 70HD is a complicated axle)
6. Installed Axle with new U Bolts. (Thanks to the other thread I made shims too because the new U Bolts aren't as flat as expected)

7. Installed new E Brake on Allison 1000 Transmission

the next step will be balancing and shortening the drive shaft and fit checking a new tank design.

I plan to add drawers under the frame.. like this:

You say you realize you are far behind schedule. The fact of the matter is you are right on schedule. We all knew that when you made your first post but , we didn't want to scare you off. Many of us have spent allot more that 3 years getting one of these old girl back on the road and the the truth be told the work never ends.....
It looks great keep up the good work!

Little update...

- tank is build and installed
- Z crossmember between arches installed and skin removed (over 100 pieces)
- Aluminium frame fully cleaned - no old glue etc anymore left
- moved to a new place
- weld of the drawer holders to the frame started, completion planned this month

Next big step is a little bit nuts:
I discovered that my special airstream had a few accidents. One that damaged a rear panel that it was covered up with a bad fix, one that caused a replacement of two of the upper end caps in the rear and one that damaged the fron fender aluminium piece. I face two options, restore the panels with tig welding and accept that it will be most likely visible, or:
Create a die out of plywood and stretchform the panels I need. I will do an experiment with a smaller plywood die and then start with the front side panels. If anyone is interested in spare panels or details of the process I will go through, I can keep this more frequent updated.
