Hot water lines

On the 350, the water lines run from the rear driver side, up to the water heater, and hot water runs to the bathroom and then to the rear, around the back, and up the passenger side to the shower and then to the kitchen. This means that the water has to run for a "long" time before heated water makes it to the kitchen sink.

So, my question, do any of you have a different route for the water lines? Have you routed the hot water line more directly from the water heater to the kitchen and shower. On my setup, the water heater is under the rear booth seat, so it is only about maybe 6 feet from the kitchen sink, but existing water line has to be about 40 feet long! I understand this might make winterizing more difficult and that the water line would be outside.... Just brainstorming...

When I do a restoration, I always group all the plumbing in a heatable enclosure (cabinet) and make the lines as short as possible so the rig can stay "alive" in the winter with minimal heat requirements. But creating a completely new plumbing path probably doesn't address your situation too well. Another solution is to place a heat loop valve that allows water to travel to it's most distant point but then return to the water heater so "warming" the water at the tap doesn't mean wasting water down the drain.
