Looks like everyone had a blast!
When will events for 2007 be posted on the New England Unit site? We'll have our Bambi shortly and be signing up for Unit 1 I'm sure. I'm already looking at planning out next years summer itinerary. We usually spend our time in the Adirondacks but also visit NH and VT as well (love the eastern US!)
Cheers

The events for 2007 are in the process of being planned as we speak. The final list is due to International by the end of October and will be published to the website by the end of the year.

When was the lobster bake? How did we miss that one? It must have been for trailers only!

It was held on the Wednesday before the rally - early workers thing. We paid our own way, it was worth the expense as the food was fantastic.

Oh well, that will teach me for not signing up to volunteer for helping out. Seriously though, we had a great time and were thankful to be a part of it, even with our tent.

Yes, the New England Unit really does know how to live! We had a fantastic rally. I feel very lucky to be part of the NEU, it's so progressive compared to many others in the WBCCI. And due to our open door policy where folks did not need to belong to the WBCCI to attend the Region One Rally and our encouraging folks to "just drop by" for our Vintage Day the NEU/WBCCI has gotten four brand new memberships for 2007. I expect more to come in the next few weeks too. I'll try and follow up with the Membership Chairpersons for the other Units that were in attendance as I'll be willing to bet they added to their ranks due to the 2006 Alumination Celebration.

I need to get my act together on this. I want host a couple of things in 2007. The first one I'll co-host with Yuki, she is planning a Maintenance Rally where we actually do maintenance on our rigs. I'd like to plan a late season rally - like at the end of October/early November just to extend our camping season a bit. This is of course me stealing ideas from rgesch who holds the annual Rig or Rent each March for the White Mountains and New England Units. Rgesch knows by the time March comes around those of us in New England just want to get our rigs out - we are totally done with winter! I know I resist winterizing The Tube until the bitter end so a late season adventure just may appeal to others who enjoy cold, crisp nights out by a roaring campfire.....

A funny thing keeps happening to remind me of the great time we all had...It seems every week since the R1R....The movie '50 First Dates' with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore has been on and I always happen to catch the end song of Somewhere over the Rainbow....Now Rice Krispies Has just came out with a commercial that I just saw with it also. It is a great song...

Did you hear that when M and I pulled into the the fairgrounds for early work crew the Sunday before it came on the radio and was playing as we drove up to greet the group. It still raises goosebumps when I think about it.

We have six new New England Unit members due to the wonderful experience non WBCCI members had at our R1R as of today.
Life is good!

Well done, Michelle. A good flow of new members is a sign of a healthy organization.
Best, Nick and Sallie

Thanks Nick and Sallie,
But this has been a team effort all the way. One of our Unit goals for 2006 was to increase WBCCI membership and I think we've done a darn good job.
Of course, getting new members is just a small part of it. It's KEEPING members that really requires an understanding of what folks want in the Airstream club. I think the NEU is doing well in this regard, time will tell.....

Sadness. I was trying to find the videos that Doug Reid had done for us back in the day. Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Silly Things. I saw a few links but they are not longer active. Anyone have these videos?
