I just started a batch of homebrew today, a Redwood Ale. It'll be ready just in time for the Spring Fling! I just might have some on hand!

us too...we went to Lake Hartwell this past weekend and got hit by the extreme storms that blew thru Friday night- Sat morning. No problems though, and we are looking forward to the Ft Mountain spring air.
Shan is making a pumpkin dish for the Saturday night dinner.
I will bring some breakfast stuff this time to help out on Saturday and/or Sunday morning...maybe my new electric griddle. I also got a way cool little aluminum table for outside ....

I will be bringing our vintage aluminum outdoor kitchen and some Northern style ribs to share. Did I mention the Miller Beer?
Has anyone been to Top Of Georgia AS park? It was recommended to us to go after the rally. We will be roaming the area for about a week and would like one place to settle in as a base camp. Then we go up to Asheville. I have yet to plan anything about coming back home.

I have been to TOG its a decent park with not much in the way of facitlites, but is near to Helen, GA the touristy "Bavarian Village". Your grandkids will like Helen. For a short stay TOG might be fine for you and it is very inexpensive. I did not find it kid friendly though.
I also like Vogel State park on the same road to Helen, and Unicoi SP which is right outside helen. Both have nice trails, a lake and a lodge on the property at Unicoi.

Howdy. I don't know if I can make it or not, but I would love to see the Airstreams and maybe get a chance to play guitar. My preference would be my electric since that is what I have been mostly playing, but my 12 string would be fun.

Even if I can't bring the trailer and camp, maybe I can swing in as a visitor. I now live in Ellijay (about 20 minutes away). I will have to update my profile (I just got here last Sunday).

Phil

all are welcome to join in the get together, we usually eat together on Sat evening sharing whatever everyone brings, or just bringing your own dinner over to a central location- usually Kathy posey's great trailer/campsite set up ...she sure knows how to make all feel welcome.
We also do the breakfast thing, but since everyone gets up at different times, it is not always as well attended.

Haven't seen anything from PizzaChop either. So, I guess he and Caroline won't be there to play. I did hear from Sue and she is having a great time out west. She is now in Colorado at the next workcamp for the summer. Since it is her birthday, we'll have to have a toast in her honor.

Glad to see we will have some visitors join us. I heard that LaVon will be stopping by with his '55 that is for sale. It is sharp!!!! He visited us at Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds last year.

Speaking of, Chaplain, Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds would be a good place to stop for a few days. It's a very nice place with a good lake for the kids to swim in. We really enjoyed our time there last spring.

We leave one week from today! I fact next week at this time we will be somewhere in Indiana, already past the dreaded Chicago traffic and sailing South.
By time we get back home spring will have really sprung here. Perfect timing so we miss the ugly brown time and will enjoy the budding of the trees.

We are collecting old cell phones and used printer cartridges for our daughter and son-in-law. They are adopting a baby from China and this is one of their fund raising projects. They can turn these in and get $ for them. If anyone happens to have an old cell phone or printer cartridge laying around and would like to donate it, bring to to the rally. For more info on this project the kids have set up a web site at: http://stolpeadoption.blogspot.com/
Thanks,
Kent

I'm unloading hunting gear this evening to lighten the trailer for better gas mileage (yea, right). I have a slow leak in the curbside front tire so I will take it to the shop Thur. morning a few hours before I am to pull out. Hopefully it isn't much more than a nail.

I put in $50.00 of diesel yesterday which brought me to just below the half mark with a quarter of a tank to begin with. Price $2.89! I am hoping to get to Indiana where the price is $2.59 a gallon for our first fill. There is no way to lighten the load unless I leave Frances home but then I would get lonely. I understand that going South is all downhill right? Looks that way on my map.

I've not been watching the deisel $ but gas here in GA is about 2.57 for the 87 now. I'm packing up tonight and expect to arrive at about 2pm (ET) tomorrow (Thurs).
Posey is dropping off her camper Thursday night and she will be back with the rest of the gang Friday evening. We're bringing a few rugrats with us this trip and the canoes.
I'll be solo for dinner Thursday night so join me if you want to.
I'll be at site #50 !!!!!! (The good Lord willing!!!)
