Top of Georgia is WBCCI only, a great place but exclusive. Falluminum is air forums I believe, all are welcome. I think there was a conflict with dates years ago?

I attended Springstream this year. On Sunday we drove down to Helen to explore. Top of Georgia is right along the route, so we stopped in to check it out. The park seemed like a nice place with friendly people. Rules are being adjusted to be more welcoming for rallies.
In truth though, after experiencing the beauty of the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, I can't imagine wanting to camp elsewhere in the vicinity.

no need to rehash old news...Suffice to say that Georgia Airstream Campers was started in protest, a long time ago. It is not meant to replace WBCCI or TCT just to offer an alternative.

Ok, so Fall-uminun (21-23 OCT) is at GA MT Fairgrounds... AND the Georgia unit of the WBCCI's fall rally (5-9 OCT) is ALSO at GA MT Fairgrounds?? Sorry I seem so daft, but I'm new to all this and I thought that Top of Georgia was the Georgia units home base 🤔

Just because a particular park might be a WBCCI Unit's home base doesn't mean that every rally must be held there. Variety is the spice of life, after all!

The Southeastern WBCCI unit goes to non WBCCI rallies too. They typically go to Springstream and Falluminum and the spring and fall Alumilina. Top of Georgia is home base to another WBCCI group - I'm not sure of their name. The Southeastern WBCCI unit may have joined them in their rallies in the past - not sure.

The North Georgia Unit is housed at TOP. The Southeast Camping Unit is mobile and chooses to participate in our rallys. We have no rules, dues, fees, etc. That's what made our club unique when it began some years ago. Just a bunch of people who want to have fun and share that in camping together.

And we appreciate that! I know for my family in particular it wouldn't benefit us to be members with dues. We would just be loosing money. I love that we have this way of getting together and meeting others without having to pay a membership!

Marcia & I just reserved A20 and learned from the ladies at the reservation desk that the Brew & Stew Festival is at the Fairgrounds that Saturday. I might have to cook up a batch of Brunswick Stew in the dutch oven to see if I am competitive, will see. Will be traveling to Fall Alumalina at Cleveland ,SC after the event. Love the mountains in the fall and spring.

Welcome DAVID, we were not aware of that fest planned, but welcome any additional source of brew and stew. The park has a full schedule of events every month. We went to see Three Dog Night there some years ago.

For Fall 2017 we may be involved with Southern Vintage Camping Friends, another great group that supports our style of rally. Their have their annual Fall get together in late October at Jekyll Island, GA. and would like to join with us if I can have ours in late September. I am thinking of Sept 22, but will confer with the campground first as the other group could add quite a few people attending.
Thoughts?
