I've tried to call four times already this morning, and only gotten a busy signal each time. Do they have an online reservation system?

Nope. Keep trying. It took me a few tries to get through. First try she put me on hold then had to go to a meeting so had to hang up... called back a few times after and kept getting busy signal.

I have booked site A28. Arriving Wednesday, October 19th, leaving Wednesday, October 26th. Now that I'm retired, I make a point of staying at least a week anywhere I go, just because I can.
On the way there and on the way back, I'll stay a couple of nights each at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama. That's a pretty good halfway point.

Here's a thought for you, Mr "I'm Free as a Bird" retiree (more than a little envious).
The following weekend is the Alumalina Fall 2016 Rally at Palmetto Cove RV Park, Cleveland SC. Just 2 hours East from Hiawassee. I plan on being at both Rallys (but note that I only live 15 minutes from Hiawassee, in Young Harris). At Alumalina, things start Thursday evening, lasting through Sunday morning.
Glad you're coming, you'll enjoy this.

Don't be envious. The downside about retirement is, first you've got to be old. Being a civil service retiree, I didn't have to be as old as some, but I ain't no spring chicken!

You're not the first to point this out to me. It's certainly worth considering, but I have to see what my doctor schedule looks like first. Between my podiatrist, both of my ophthalmologists (one for my diabetic retinopathy, one for my developing cataracts, luckily working out of the same office), my dentist, and my endocrinologist who is my primary care physician, I'll have plenty of appointments to get out of the way in the fall before the holiday season rolls around. Best if I can schedule them all a couple of days apart over the span of a week or so, but it doesn't always work that way.
But if I can possibly manage it, I'll be at Alumalina as well.

How many folks going to Falluminum 2016 are WBCCI Southeastern Camping Unit members? I'm giving serious consideration to joining that Unit, either as an affiliate or even switching my membership from my current Unit for 2017.
