Friday Evening
Chanukah food: on Friday night Melissa and Kevin will have chicken soup with matzoh balls for dinner. Everyone always loves that. There will also be chopped liver (think pate). Not everyone loves that!
You can bring appetizers if the above doesn’t intrigue you.
Bring your own drinks
Saturday December 9
Breakfast: another Chanukah tradition, Cynthia and Steve will be providing latkes (think potato pancakes). Bring additional food if you want.
Things to do:
1) In the afternoon we are planning on visiting Saddlehorn Winery in Burton about 20 minutes away. We could carpool.
2) Visit Round Top, antiques galore, cool little town
3) Visit College Station, Bush Presidential Library
4) Visit Brenham
5) Hang out and do nothing!
6) Hike and bike
Saturday Evening
Happy hour and general pot luck and grill fest on the pit. Bring something to share and meat of your own to grill. Ric is making homemade hot chocolate to have around the fire!
Patti and Harry are working on an ice cream surprise for sometime during the rally since we are in BlueBell country.
A few side notes:
1) Steve may be going to Lake Somerville State Park for a mountain bike ride on Friday, anyone welcome to come along
2) From our local residents Patti and Harry: There is a place for really good burgers right down the road, maybe 4-5 miles. The place is a store with a kitchen, has a few tables inside and more outside. We usually get burgers to go, and they are very good! They are our favorite burgers of all!!
3) Also, we go to Somerville a lot to a Mexican Restaurant, Las Fuentes. Good food, and really good margaritas! It is probably less than 10 miles down the road from Yegua Park.
Sunday December 10
Well unfortunately it will be time to go home!
Please let Steve know that you are coming if you haven’t done that yet. 409 789 5641 or
