Propane detector dead

As promised on the detector, mine died after a little more than 7 years in service. The chirp and flashing light told me it was time. Thankfully Atwood makes a replacement that looks the same. When I replaced it, I added a surface-mount toggle switch next to it so that I can turn it off when stored, which is most of the year. It seems a simple matter to turn it on when I open the gas valve. Now it should last forever. Since it comes with instructions that indicate it is OK to wire it to the master Store switch, it seems there are no federal requirements to have it energized all of the time. One parasitic drain eliminated!
